Well the rand has started the year off on a a positive note surging 3% against the dollar thus far but major headwinds still remain but despite this, a Bloomberg survey of traders projects that the currency will trade between close to 13 and 16 rand to the dollar this year signalling gains of 8% or a loss of over 13%.
